Bio
Tony
has always had a passion for radio. Being born and raised in La
Mirada (Southern California), radio had a large influence in Tony's
life. As a youngster Tony fell asleep endless summer nights, listening
to Vin Scully and Dodgers Baseball. He followed Top 40 radio with
great passion, following the charts and listening to great AM radio
stations such as 93KHJ and FM stations such as KKDJ, KIQQ, etc.
An avid radio listener, Tony has seen the comings and goings, so
he is knowledgeable of the Los Angeles radio scene; of the last
twenty-five years or so.
Tony,
a California native, is very involved in the community in which
he grew up-and now raises his own family with his wife of eleven
years, Carmen and his three sons, Tyler, Miles, and of course, Tony
Aiello Jr. (A.J.).
Some
of Tony's favorite hobbies include gardening, playing sports, coaching
sports, collecting memorabilia, and bike riding.
Born
and raised in La Mirada, Tony attends City Council meetings and
study sessions on a regular basis. In 1998, Councilman Dave Peters
and the City of La Mirada recognized Tony's contributions to the
community; by appointing him to the city's Historical Heritage Commission.
Tony
is also very much involved in the public school system. Tony served
as the Foster Road Elementary School PTA Treasurer in 1998-99 and
1999-2000. Tony attempted to capture a seat on the Norwalk-La Mirada
Unified School District Executive Board in 1999. He didn't win,
but finished respectably.
Today,
he serves on the district's Facilities Task Force. The committee
is assigned the difficult task of creating and implementing a master
plan; to help an aging district maintain and upgrade school sites;
as well as handle student growth and decline, along with addressing
the facility needs of the students.
In
1995 Tony embarked on a new career somewhat, accidentally. He began
phoning in 'on-air' weather reports to his buddy (and fellow John
Glenn High School Eagle) Shawn Parr on KZLA-FM, and was dubbed "Tony
the Weatherscout from La Mirada", Tony realized radio is what he
loved and radio is what he wanted to do. So, Tony the Weatherscout
was born.
The
Tony the Weatherscout logo debuted in 1997, created by Rich.
The
"Tony the Weatherscout Show" an Internet radio program debuted in
December 1998-on a local radio station in Hollywood as part of the
"Kaleidoscope Magazine" and the American Radio Network. The music
program was heard on local radio in Hollywood and around the world
on the Internet and featured "bubble gum" pop classics from the
late sixties and early seventies.(These songs can be heard as the
bumper music for today's
"Tony the Weatherscout Show")
In
early 2000, Tony joined
AdrenalineRadio.com as a fill-in host, board-op, and doing voice-overs
for commercials (Tony's true love), and other various projects.
In September 2000 the new "Tony
the Weatherscout Show" debuted as the source for information
on Internet Radio.
The
program features a unique "mix", by providing essential information-
that helps people live their everyday lives. All with an entertaining,
slap-happy, effervescent, and sometimes downright weird, twist.
Politics, American history facts and trivia, topical guests, current
events, news, social issues, debates, contests, on-location broadcasts,
"road trips", and election coverage,
And
proudly, the program provides a forum for news and guests that are
squeezed out of today's mainstream media allowing for an outlet
for the unheard voice.
The
appealing nature of the show's common-sense approach-and the apparent
representation of the ordinary "Jack" in today's society-makes for
a fun hour!
To
compliment the radio program, in June of 2001 Tony debuted a weekly
lifestyle column in the Southeast Cities Tribune Newspaper, providing
local So. Cal. residents with a perspective, and providing the community
with the intimate feeling; that only a local newspaper can provide.
In
April of 2002 Tony was featured on the front page of the Whittier
Daily News. He was dubbed by the newspaper as, "The Voice of La
Mirada". Tony joined the City of La Mirada's "Concerts Under the
Stars" Summer concert series-as the Announcer/MC in July 2002
